Senior Cognos BI Consultant

LPA Systems has immediate openings for Senior BI Consultants delivering high quality, high value business and technical consulting services. Technical consulting will cover the full range of Cognos enterprise-wide Business Intelligence tools. Business consulting will include the full lifecycle of solution definition as well as project and engagement management.

Specifically:

• Perform business consulting including the elicitation and analysis of business requirements for Business Intelligence, Performance Management and Data Warehouse solutions
• Provide presales support for the sales organization including demonstrations to prospective customers and startup services for new customers including prototypes and pilot project programs
• Perform installation and configuration of IBM Cognos 8 Business Intelligence software on customer hardware (both Windows and Unix)
• Design and develop Business Intelligence and Performance Management technical solutions
• Review complex modeling situations and implement solutions
• Advise customers on best practices for BI, PM and DW deployments
• Demonstrate strong technical knowledge of the entire IBM Cognos 8 BI product line and Data Warehousing tools
• Actively seek additional services revenue opportunities across the client organization
• Develop trusted relationships with executives and managers in client's IT and business departments
• Provide knowledge-transfer and classroom training services to customers

Mandatory Skills/Experience

• Minimum three years Business Consulting experience and five years Business Intelligence experience
• Minimum three years experience with Cognos tools which includes at least two years experience with Cognos 8
• Demonstrated expertise in complex modeling and complex report development
• Demonstrated expertise in designing and configuring Cognos security
• Successful Cognos BI toolset installation experience
• Knowledge of Data Warehousing concepts
• Excellent communication, interpersonal, and presentation skills
• Proven ability to work independently or on a team as required
• Ability to prioritize and handle multiple tasks as well as changing priorities
• Related college degree or equivalent experience
• Experience in TM1 and/or Cognos Express a strong plus

Location: Generally Northeast United States

Travel: Up to 100%
